Teacher Capacity Development
Muktangan – Sankalp Partnership: Building Teacher Capacity. Strengthening Classrooms. Transforming Learning.
The Teacher Partnership Programme
Transforms classrooms by empowering educators to become confident changemakers.
Through practical, child-centred training and mentoring, teachers create joyful, inclusive, and meaningful learning experiences. As knowledge cascades from teachers to classrooms, the impact reaches thousands of children and strengthens entire communities.
Muktangan partners with Sankalp to strengthen the capacity of educators through an intensive, year-long professional development programme rooted in active, child-centred pedagogy. The initiative equips Sankalp Fellows with practical teaching strategies, enabling them to mentor community teachers and improve classroom practices across multiple districts in Chhattisgarh.
The programme combines workshops, classroom observation, reflective practice, coaching, and experiential learning to create sustainable improvements in teaching quality and student learning.
Confident Teachers, Confident Classrooms
Quality education depends on confident, well-supported teachers. Many educators working in underserved communities have limited access to continuous professional development, practical classroom strategies, and opportunities for reflective learning.
The Muktangan–Sankalp partnership addresses this gap by building the instructional and leadership capacities of fellows who, in turn, mentor hundreds of teachers within their communities.
An Experiential, Constructivist Approach
Each session blends theory with practice, allowing fellows to experience learning before facilitating it with teachers.

A Journey to Muktangan Classrooms
Immersion Visit to Mumbai
A key milestone of the programme was the fellows' immersion visit to Mumbai, where they observed live classrooms across Muktangan schools. The experience enabled them to connect workshop learning with authentic classroom practice, observe experienced educators, and reflect on strategies they could adapt within their own contexts.
Every Empowered Teacher Creates Confident Learners
By investing in educators, we create classrooms where children experience joyful, inclusive and meaningful learning. Through partnerships like Sankalp, Muktangan continues to strengthen education systems by building teachers who inspire lasting change.
