We charge no fees. Not to students, not to teachers, not to trainees.
Muktangan children come from families in the communities of Mumbai's G-South Ward - families for whom private English-medium schooling has always been priced out of reach. What they get instead is a classroom built around how children actually learn: active constructivism, small groups, no ranking, and a teacher who acts as a facilitator rather than an authority.
Art, music, dance, drama and physical education are not extras on a Friday afternoon - they sit inside the core curriculum.
A Full Twelve-Year Arc
- Our pilot school took its first cohort from pre-primary all the way to the Class X board examination - completed in 2014.

Learning Alongside Everyone Else
Children with learning differences learn alongside everyone else. Our Inclusion department trains teachers in specialised strategies including sign language, working with partners such as the Maharashtra Dyslexia Association and Ummeed Child Development Centre.
Selected teachers are trained as socio-emotional learning facilitators, creating spaces where children can name what they feel.
We Moved in the Opposite Direction
Most schools post high averages by quietly not enrolling children who would lower them. We have moved in the opposite direction - and our averages held.

Why this matters to the board
It is the hardest thing we do, and the easiest thing to cut first when budgets tighten. It is also the clearest proof that our results come from teaching rather than from selection - a school that admits five times more children with certified special needs and holds its average has demonstrated something a selective school never can. No comparable Mumbai school publishes this figure at all. Both plans in this deck protect it explicitly.
Seven Schools Were Never the Point
Our schools are laboratories. They exist to demonstrate, under real public-system conditions and real public-system constraints, that a different kind of classroom is possible - and then to hand that knowledge to everyone else.

Muktangan alumni are becoming doctors, engineers, educators, entrepreneurs, and community leaders - turning learning into lifelong impact.

From a Muktangan Classroom to Becoming a Doctor
I am a proud alumna of Muktangan School (Batch 2016–17) and have successfully completed my Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College and General Hospital.
My journey has been one of dedication, perseverance, and a deep commitment to the field of healthcare. From my formative years at Muktangan to earning my medical degree, I have always strived for academic excellence while nurturing a passion for serving the community.
With a strong foundation in medical sciences and clinical training, I am now prepared to contribute meaningfully to patient care and the broader healthcare system. I hope my journey inspires fellow Muktangan students, especially those aspiring to pursue careers in medicine and allied health sciences, to believe in their dreams and work towards achieving them.
