Programme Partnerships

What we learn in our own classrooms shouldn't stay in our own classrooms. For over 20 years, Muktangan's schools have been a living laboratory for what works in public education - and we partner with governments, NGOs, and institutions to carry proven, child-centred practice into mainstream education, at scale.

Proven Impact, Shared Widely

Change at Scale

Behind every figure is a classroom that changed - a teacher who moved from rote instruction to active learning, a centre that became a place of joy, a child who found their footing.

Why We Partner

Beyond Our Seven Schools

Muktangan is a demonstration model. Having proven, in our own schools, that public education can be transformed, we made a deliberate choice: rather than only opening more schools of our own, we share what works so change can take root across the wider system.

Every partnership is built to strengthen existing schools and educators from within so improvements are locally owned, and they last long after a project ends. At the heart of all our outreach is a single idea: active, constructive education, where children learn by doing, questioning, and making meaning for themselves.

Our Partnership Models

Four Ways We Bring Muktangan's Approach to the Wider System

01

Early Childhood Education & Anganwadi Transformation

We strengthen early childhood education inside India's Anganwadis, in partnership with local government -training Anganwadi Workers, creating model centres, and building local master trainers so the model sustains and scales. Because the earliest years shape everything that follows.

02

School Transformation Programme

We work with clusters of government and NGO schools to transform them from the inside -building the pedagogical capacity of teachers, the quality of learning environments, the participation of parents, and the strength of school leadership.

03

Need-Based Teacher Capacity Building

We design tailored training and mentoring for the specific needs of a partner school, pre-school, or institution -always rooted in active, constructive pedagogy. From subject teaching to classroom practice, we help educators grow where it matters most for their children.

Where Partnerships Are Designed & Strengthened

At the heart of our outreach is the Muktangan Education Forum (MEF) -a hub for collaboration, research, and knowledge-sharing that brings together educators, researchers, universities, and partners.

Through the MEF, we translate two decades of classroom experience into interdisciplinary curriculum and resources that strengthen both teaching and school education. It is where practitioners and academics work side by side to design, test, and refine approaches -and where learnings from our schools and partnerships are documented and shared with the wider system.

  • A collaboration centre -connecting educators, researchers, and institutions around shared challenges
  • Interdisciplinary curriculum design -connecting knowledge to children's lives
  • Research and documentation -turning practice into evidence
  • Knowledge dissemination -carrying proven practice to teachers, schools, and systems

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

They are Muktangan's outreach collaborations that bring its classroom-tested, child-centred approach to the wider education system, through four models: early childhood and Anganwadi transformation, school transformation, need-based teacher capacity building, and our foundational literacy & numeracy assessment framework.

No. They remain with their government or NGO owners. Muktangan builds capacity from within, so change is locally owned and sustainable.

An approach in which children learn by doing, questioning, and making meaning for themselves, rather than through rote memorisation. It runs through every partnership.

Governments, municipal bodies, NGOs, foundations, pre-schools, and educational institutions -in urban and rural settings.

It is Muktangan's centre for collaboration, research, and interdisciplinary curriculum design -where educators, researchers, and partners work together to strengthen teaching and school education, and where learnings are documented and shared.

Through local facilitators and master trainers, demonstration centres, and handover -so the approach can spread without a permanent outside presence.
