Muktangan Education Trust is a not-for profit organization, registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950. The registration number is E-3305 dated 9th September 1966. The Trust is governed by a professional Board of Trustees and supported by an active Council of Advisors. Over the years, GuideStar India has consistently awarded Muktangan the Platinum Seal (Champion Level), which is the highest certification for transparency & public accountability.
We comply with the provisions of the various statutes applicable to Charitable Trust including those under the Bombay Public Trusts Act 1950, The Income Tax Act 1961, The Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 2010.
All education is provided free to our children & teachers. Donations to the Trust qualify for deduction from Income @ 50% under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1960. The Trust is also registered under The Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 2010 and can therefore receive Foreign Donations. The resources of the Trust are exclusively committed towards the Programme.
The Trust is eligible and capable of complying with the rules under the Companies Act 2013 with respect to CSR activities. The School and Teacher Education programme falls under the Education and Women’s Empowerment sectors approved under the CSR rules.
